Siemens’ SHERPA X Nominated for the SAP Innovation Awards 2026
Siemens has been nominated for the SAP Innovation Awards 2026 in the Technology Pathfinder category for SHERPA X – a clean-core, event-first integration architecture built on SAP BTP Advanced Event Mesh, with ASAPIO supporting the journey as SAP OEM partner from the first architectural concept through global rollout.
The challenge: static integrations couldn’t keep pace
Siemens needed a modernized, clean-core SAP Standard platform on the way to SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP Private, while still connecting a global multi-ERP landscape spanning SAP ECC and S/4HANA. Traditional, point-to-point integrations couldn’t deliver the real-time responsiveness the business needed.
The solution: an event-first backbone on SAP BTP Advanced Event Mesh
SHERPA X connects Siemens’ distributed teams and systems worldwide through SAP BTP Advanced Event Mesh and the AEM Event Add-On for ERP, orchestrated via SAP Event Studio. Standardized event schemas and broker topology let teams define an event once and reuse it across many scenarios – from Resilient Manufacturing and Track & Trace to Warehouse Management, Available-to-Promise, and Order Management – following clean-core principles and preparing the ground for AI agent orchestration.
The outcome: real-time visibility at global scale

ASAPIO’s role: from architectural north star to global rollout
As Siemens’ SAP OEM partner, ASAPIO began with a pre-study to assess the existing Advanced Event Mesh landscape, align stakeholders, and define the architectural north star for SHERPA X. From there, ASAPIO delivered a guided enablement program covering installation, configuration and modeling, developer training, and safeguarding – so the Siemens SHERPA X team could implement resilient event flows across its ECC and S/4HANA landscapes at scale, backed by an Expert-on-Demand support model for iterative rollout.
