Webinar: Why Would I Need Event Add-on for ERP?

Webinar: Why would I need Event Add-on for ERP?, November 19, 2026, 4:30 PM CET – ASAPIO

On Thursday, November 19, 2026, 4:30–5:15 PM CET, join ASAPIO, SAP and Solace for a live webinar on whether switching to the ASAPIO Event Add-on for ERP is worth the effort when your SAP S/4HANA landscape may already send events. Register here with your business email address.

Build or Buy? The Real Question

Most SAP S/4HANA landscapes already get events out somehow – an OData call through SAP Integration Suite, or change triggers wired up in-house years ago. That works for the first handful of interfaces. The cost usually shows up later, in retry logic, ordering guarantees, filtering, and maintenance by whoever is still around. In this session, an ASAPIO Add-on Expert and an SAP Expert face a skeptical customer voice who already has an event pipeline in place and asks whether switching is worth it.

What We’ll Cover

  • Build vs. buy – what works for two years may not work for ten, and who still maintains it once the person who built it has moved on.
  • Architecture fit – the native SAP S/4HANA event usually carries only an object ID, so whatever is listening has to call back to SAP for the details. The Event Add-on for ERP sends the full business data with the event itself, fitting the event-driven architecture (EDA) you already have instead of adding another layer on top.
  • A safe bet – SAP Note 3478579 documents using the add-on to create events as a clean-core-compliant approach, and what that means for a five-year bet against coding your own extensions to RAP, AIF or BAdIs.
  • After go-live – filtering, payload scope and ordering become configuration, not custom code. We’ll touch on how one of our largest customers in Germany moved from a self-built Cloud Integration flow to the add-on after two years in production.
  • Key takeaways and live Q&A – about 10 minutes set aside to put your own architecture to the panel.

Hosted together by ASAPIO, SAP and Solace: an ASAPIO Add-on Expert, an SAP Expert, and a customer-perspective voice who already has a way to get events out of SAP S/4HANA and asks the tough questions. Speaker names will be announced closer to the date.
