Direct Confluent/Kafka Connect (without schema support)
The updated connector now supports direct connectivity to the broker cluster using TCP/IP-based Kafka protocol. This means no more need for a REST proxy.
This feature is only available for SAP S/4HANA-based systems.

Sequencing support for all connectors
The new option to sequence outgoing messages enables simple and reliable ordering of the messages: Messages for the same object are always sent in the sequence they occurred.
For some use cases the sequence in which events are sent out is very important. With the Event Enablement Add-on these were previously not addressed on the source side, but needed the consumer of the events handled out-of-sequence events.
With this new option you can configure an outbound object to always use an additional sequencing step which ensures that messages are sent out in sequence if they are referring to the same object id (e.g. to the same Sales Order number). This involves multiple steps:
- Saving the generated payload
- Acquiring a lock on sending for the same key (preventing parallel send calls)
- Checking existing payloads and if there are older unsent payloads available then those are sent first
If these steps result in an error the remaining payloads are not sent and kept until another retry happens.
Dead Letter Queue: change topic of multiply failed messages
Send failed messages to a Dead Letter Queue either on certain errors or after a configured number of retries. (Currently limited to the Kafka Handler)
Component Health Monitoring in Cloud ALM
- New option to periodically send Health information to Cloud ALM for the configured interfaces.
- The metric sent is the ratio of failed calls compared to total number of calls – which can be included in a Health Monitoring dashboard.
Inbound Handler BAdI
New BAdI Spot in the inbound handler allows for custom handling of the inbound payloads and/or custom response messages.
Monitoring support for AMQP and Message IDs
- New display and search option to support the unique Message IDs introduced in the previous release.
- Also used to monitor AMQP messages.
